What happens during the session?

First of all we’ll talk through your goal for the session.  Then I’ll tell you about the process and talk you through each step, so you’re fully comfortable .  Coaching and CBT (cognitive behaviour therapy) is used to change your habits and unblock limitations to your goal.  Then hypnotherapy is delivered with you reclining back, (fully clothed), closing your eyes and relaxing ‘deeply’.  From there, I guide you using light trance techniques (you are fully aware of everything).  You’ll experience an amazing ‘light show’ with the glasses and float away of the soothing music.  I use guided visualisation to help you ‘code in’ your goal, whatever that may be. I may use light taps on accupressure points on the head, collar bone, face and hands.  This is shown to get the brain to respond more openly to fresh ideas and take them on board for ultimate transformation.  At the end of the session, we’ll bring you fully back to an alert and deeply refreshed state. It’s a comforting, warm and wholly nurturing experience.

How long is a session?

The session is 90 minutes the first time, so we can talk about your goals and desired outcomes.  This means each session is specifically tailored to your needs.  Additional sessions are 60 minutes.  This includes time for an initial de-brief to see how you are doing and also post session feedback and next steps planning for you to continue progressing.  

How many sessions will I need?

The Hypno-Fit Package is 6 sessions, but more session might be required if you uncover deeper blocks that are keeping current habits locked in. (e.g.compulsive eating disorders etc).    BUT…that said…usually 6 sessions is enough to get your mind primed for weight loss and your new life plan up and running.  Whatever works for you is always at the forefront of our work together.  The VIRTUAL REALITY PHASE, coupled with hypnotherapy and psychotherapy, will be extended according to your specific situation.  We deep dive right in from session one and we stop when you have RESULTS that set you free and leave you happy!

Is it guaranteed to work?

Yes…if YOU decide to work it.  Like anything, it’s up to you what you want to get out of it.  We only use methods that science, psychology and research have shown work for others facing the same issues.  We don’t use big false claims, or make it a passive process. At all times you work as a team with your therapist/coach to co-create the outcomes you want.

How do I know this is for me?

Clients are often those who are open or curious about personal growth and changing how their mind responds to specific situations.  It’s for you if you want to lose weight and feel empowered to reach your goals.

If you are on medications that your doctor has told you affects your weght, or have hormonal issues, then we can discuss this at consultation.

What is hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a very natural state for the brain to be in, it’s similar to daydreaming, meditation and other familiar states of mind.  Hypnotherapy is an additional way to allow the subconscious mind to take on new ideas more easily.  When you’re in a hypnotic state, the logical mind (the one that is NOT in control of deep running patterns), calms down, so better access is gained to the parts of the mind running your habit programs.    We can discuss any questions you have at the planning phase.

Can everyone be hypnotised?

Yes, if they want to. You are in control of the process and the therapist is clinically trained to guide you into a state of deep relaxation and focus.  It’s not spooky, or woo woo…it’s a seriously researched therapeutic intervention.  Some people go deeper than others and you can also learn to go deeper in a trance-like state as you get used to the process. Most people find it extraordinary how good they feel during and after a session.

Does hypnotherapy/psychotherapy work for everyone?

It works for everyone who has generally good mental health and is not under a psychiatrist for severe mental illness.  Anyone who takes the program will have to be READY to make changes and follow the agreements we make. Results will depend on the depth of the issue, how long it’s been going on and you’re overall life situation.  Both science and psychology have shown Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Exposure Therapy, Hypnotherapy and Virtual Reality Therapy, all have positive impacts on anxiety relief, improved self-esteem and goal attainment.

What type of psychotherapy is used?

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) as well as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing).  Both are held up by the NHS in the UK as the most significant interventions for emotional and behaviour change.

Is the therapist in control?

In hypnotherapy the therapist is an expert who knows how to relax your conscious mind so you can gain access to the more subconscious parts that run your existing habits, feelings, thoughts and beliefs.  YOU are fully aware of what’s happening and the hypnotherapist works only on your agreed goals.  So you can relax!  Hypnosis is similar to deep meditation, but with the purpose of attaining a specific outcome.

What is a virtual gastric band?

The term relates to the hypnotic version of a surgical gastric band…but WITHOUT the surgery.  The mind is a powerful tool that when used correctly, can take on new ideas and believe them to be real.  Hypnosis allows us to bypass the logical mind, so you feel as if a mini gastric band has been fitted.    The process involves you going into a relaxed state while your Hypno-Fit Therapist takes you through the process of inserting the band.  When you are at a certain level of hypnosis, your subconscious mind takes on these powerful ideas and begins to react as if REAL surgery had taken place.  That means being able to eat smaller portion sizes and being satisfied.  *Note:  This is a hypnotherapy process and does not use Virtual Reality Therapy and the headset etc.  Clients report feeling amazing after this deeply nurturing experience.

What is VIRTUAL REALITY THERAPY?

Virtual Reality Therapy, uses a headset to simulate real environments that can be used to overcome your anxious triggers and reactions. For weight loss there is a restaurant environment where you can practice your new eating responses. There are also program environments that help relax your mind and leave you feeling calm and positive.  It’s an revolutionary process and clients are LOVING it.
